Technology programs that have to work the first time.
Since 2000 we have been the delivery partner inside some of Australia’s largest and most regulated organisations — taking on the programs that carry real operational and reputational risk.
What we do
We shape the decision, then lead the delivery. That starts with the business case and the operating model, runs through procurement, RFP and vendor selection, takes in the risk, cyber and regulatory work — including APRA submissions and board packs — and finishes with a migration that lands cleanly and a handover that operations teams can actually run.
IT Directions is accountable for the consulting, governance, delivery leadership and vendor coordination. Where engineering, build or specialist implementation is needed, we bring in partners from our core network and stay accountable for the outcome.
Contact centre platforms serving thousands of staff. Workplace technology rollouts across multiple countries. Headquarters fit-outs with smart building integration. And now digital, automation and AI initiatives where the technology is new and the stakes are not.
Expertise across six key areas
Microsoft 365, Teams, Intune and device management, identity and security, meeting room and AV technology. We have delivered this to 3,000 people across ten sites as a single change event, through COVID lockdowns, without disrupting the business.
Contact centre platforms and cloud migrations, omnichannel and digital channels, IVR and payments integration, outbound dialling, speech analytics, workforce management, and the data and reporting behind it. Our largest engagement moved an 1,800-seat contact centre from on-premise to Genesys Cloud.
Portals, web and application delivery, and the integration work that connects them to core systems. We have delivered a self-service portal for a 20,000-strong adviser network, integrated to policy administration and payment platforms.
Practical assessment and delivery of process automation, AI knowledge and agent assist tools, chatbots and webchat. Recent work includes superannuation rollover automation across multiple policy administration systems, and AI knowledge solutions that cut search time for service teams.
Program leadership for data centre, network, cloud and platform change, including risk assessment, dependency mapping and coordination with specialist delivery partners. Our history here runs from major data centre and WAN builds to smart building technology for new headquarters.
Operating model reviews, activity-based and flexible working, facilities and process improvement, and the change management that makes new ways of working stick. We have led premises restacks and office utilisation programs delivered on time and under budget.
Our track record
Our work has spanned life and health insurance, banking and wealth, property and construction, telecommunications and aviation, with clients and engagements including TAL, Mirvac, Bupa, MBF, Commonwealth Bank, AMP Capital, QBE, Qantas, Telstra, Ericsson and Data#3.
Programs have ranged from $1M to $15M+, delivered under both waterfall and agile, in environments where the regulator, the board and the customer were all watching.
Who we are
IT Directions is led by founder and principal consultant Simon Boutros, a PMP-certified program manager with 27 years in technology and business delivery.
Simon leads every engagement personally, which means the person you meet in the first conversation is the person who does the work. He can build the business case with the executive team in the morning and work through integration design with the engineers in the afternoon, and has written a project management e-book and mentoring program downloaded more than 5,000 times.
Why clients choose us
We are deliberately senior, vendor-neutral by design, and we put the scope in writing before work starts.
Large consultancies bring scale and overhead. Contractors bring a pair of hands. IT Directions brings enterprise-grade program leadership, accountable to outcomes, without the layers in between.
